The Norseland Community 150 Anniversary committee will hold a brief ceremony to formally acknowledge and present a thank you gift to the Nicollet County Historical Society on November 6. Anniversary trees will be presented to the Norseland Lutheran and Scandian Grove Churches in recognition of their assistance in the June celebration. The presentation will be made at 1:30 p.m. in front of the Norseland Store. The public is invited.
This will be one of the final observances held by the Norseland Community 150 committee. A beautiful parade calendar with aerial and ground level pictures has been developed. This 2009 calendar will be available Nov. 1 at the Scandian Grove Lutefisk dinner. After the dinner, they can be purchased for $10 at Anthony Feed Service and at Norseland Lutheran Church and Scandian Grove Lutheran Church.
Norseland looks completely different from the air. John Cross, noted photographer for the Mankato Free Press took the aerial photos and John Holmberg of Terryjohn Services provided the helicopter. Thanks to Grant Annexstad for his help with this project.
The calendar will make a great Christmas gift. end
